Location – Croydon Hall sits in six acres of well established gardens and is within the Exmoor National Park with stunningly beautiful countryside views. The postcode is TA24 6QT. Croycon hall is just three miles from the North Somerset seaside. There is plenty to explore in the local area and there are scenic walks up into the Quantock Hills. The nearest town is Dunster which is three miles away. Taunton train station is only thirty minutes drive away. Bristol airport is an hour away.

The Accommodation – Sleeps up to 40 guests with the use of 28 bedrooms, 18 of which are en suite. There are also five shared bathrooms. Another 30 guests can be accommodated using extra bedrooms for an extra charge, please ask for details

    GROUND FLOOR:
  • Large entrance hall
  • Main dining room leading into a bright conservatory area with seats for up to 70 guests. Patio doors leading out to the garden terrace where tables and chairs can be used for outdoor dining
  • Large Commercial Kitchen with steam oven, gas oven with six burner hob, and dishwasher
  • The Drawing Room is a large, bright room with an original wood parquet floor. A really nice feature is the large bay window overlooking the well maintained gardens. There are plenty of comfortable sumptuous sofas so you and your guests can completely relax. This reception room can be used as a function room and if the furniture is moved aside, the wooden floor makes a fantastic dance floor. There is direct access to the gardens and a door opens into the dining room
  • The lounge with bar area. This room is cosy and comfortable with sofas and a log fire as the focal point
  • The Study with sofa and television
  • Easy access twin bedroom with en suite shower room ideal for disabled guests
  • Downstairs WC
  • Spa, including a Swedish sauna, large hot tub, Infra-Red sauna, and a steam room. Door with access out to the gardens. (These facilities are for a maximum of 15 guests for two hour sessions and have to be booked in advance for an extra charge)

    FIRST FLOOR:

  • 28 bedrooms in total (extra bedroom available on request) consisting of – Ten twin bedrooms, eight double bedrooms, two single bedrooms, three triple bedrooms, three quad bedrooms, and two group bedrooms sleeping five and nine guests. There are 18 en suite bathrooms and five shared bathrooms
  • The Quantocks Suite has six single beds with an en-suite. There is still room for 3 more mattresses if needed. This room could also be set up as a twin or double and could also be used as a bridle suite. The whole room can be cleared and used as a function room. The room is carpeted and could be used as an art room, conference, or seminar room with seating for up to 35 people. Large windows look out onto the stunning panoramic views of the gardens and Quantock Hills beyond
    NEXT TO THE HOUSE:
  • The Old Barn is detached from the main house and offers a high degree of privacy. There are three function rooms. This barn has its own toilet and shower facilities. Wheel chair access is on the ground floor from the rear car park. The Old Barn has a very large room on the ground floor making it the perfect venue for a larger gatherings, meetings and conferences. It would also be the perfect room for dancing, live music or theatre workshops. 120 people can be accommodated depending on the layout of the furniture. Some of the lovely features of this room are the high timber vaulted ceiling, large windows and a impressive honey-coloured wood floor. The lighting is on a dimmer switch and there is a wifi service, a hardwire connection to the Internet and a large wall mounted roll down projector screen. Equipment for a public address system, music mixers and amplifier are available on request
  • The Low Barn Room is a uniquely shaped carpeted room on the ground floor offering space for small groups of up to 15 people. It can be used as a breakout room or for a casual bar or refreshment centre
  • The High Barn Room is on the first floor room within the barn complex. This room is carpeted and can accommodate a small group of 10 to 12 people
  • The Stables Games Room with a table tennis table, croquet set etc

    THE GROUNDS:

  • Set within six acres of well tended and established gardens, Croydon Hall offers a completely tranquil setting. The rolling lawns, ancient trees and far-reaching views over the famous Quantock Hills give a wonderful sense of calmness and getting back to nature. There is parking for up to 50 cars
    HISTORY:
  • The Croydon Estate was host to a community of Cistercian monks (part of Cleeve Abbey) in 1198. Since this time, the site of Croydon Hall has had a variety of uses from a feudal farm to a residential school for girls. A wide variety of residents have used the property for different purposes, including a magistrate who possibly used it as a courtroom, accommodation for war time evacuees and, it was once owned by an eccentric German Count. The Count created many of the beautiful garden features, including the Italian garden, and various delightful water features. Through the centuries, the appearance of Croydon Hall has changed due to the different owners and events and has evolved over this time to be the beautiful house you see today

HIGH SEASON: – June, July, August, September & Christmas/New Years period – Hire rate per night up to 40 people £2,500.00. (Additional people over 40 per person per night £60.00. Day guests £15.00 per person per day)

MID SEASON: – March, April, May, October – Hire rate per night up to 40 people £2,350 (Additional people over 40 per person per night £55 Day guests £15 per person per day)

LOW SEASON: – January, February, November, December (excluding Christmas/New Years week) – Hire rate per night up to 40 people £2,200 (Additional people over 40 per person per night £50 Day guests £10 per person per day)
